Our Mission
The mission of the Southborough Education Foundation (SEF) is to offer private funding through community support for creative and challenging programs that enhance the educational excellence of the Southborough public schools.
Our Vision
SEF seeks to foster academic excellence in our public schools by awarding grants for innovative and creative programs which support the goals and ongoing priorities of the district. Programs such as these would not normally be funded via traditional school budgets. The Foundation seeks grant proposals that will motivate faculty and students by creating opportunities for inventive educational programming, multidisciplinary team projects, team-teaching across grade levels, and community-focused activities.
Our Success
Our success is measured one student and one program at a time. Recently funded programs include Labquest (an approach to data aquisition and spectroscopy), Smartboard technology in the World Language Department at Trottier to allow students to virtually experience cultures around the world, an earthquake table for students to observe and measure the effects of an earthquake on student-built structures, 6+1 Trial Writing which provides a clear structure for students writing and “WaNNa Walk?”, a program focused on healthy eating and exercise.
